Message for Students:
Hi there! I have been teaching at SRJC since August, 2011. Prior to joining the Math department here, I taught full-time for 6 years at Pima Community College and University of Arizona, both in Tucson, Arizona. I have also taught summer school at Mendocino College in Ukiah for a few years. My degrees were from Beijing University (bachelor's) and UCLA (master's and doctor's).
If you are considering signing up for one of my classes, the course syllabus should be available in Canvas 1-2 weeks before the beginning of the semester. Requirements for my classes usually include reading and assigments that are due daily, weekly in-class quizzes, and 3-4 exams plus a final exam. Many of my courses require that students complete their homework online, and I do a fair amount of group work in class. You are welcome to look at the syllabi of my current courses to see how my classes are structured.
Policy for Add codes: If you would like to enroll in my class and it is already full, I would encourage you to keep checking online, in case any space becomes available when someone else drops the class or is dropped by the system. Some students may have registered for the class before finalizing their schedules. On the first day, when there are more students trying to add than the seats available in the classroom, I typically hold a lottery to decide who will be eligible for add codes. Those students who win the lottery will receive add codes on the second day of class when they return, and students who are not present on the first day are not eligible for add codes. I am unable to give out add codes without meeting the student first.
Please feel free to email me at the address above if you have any questions. I normally check my email twice a day during business hours. If you are inquiring about a particular course, please include your course number in the subject of your email. If you are enrolled in one of my coursese, it is recommended that you use Canvas messages to contact me to avoid issues with the spam filter.
