  Sonoma County.


  1. Arts for the Current Week:  Provides info on what is being displayed this week by the local
    galleries. Also, informs artist about exhibit and commission work.
  2. Socool Photo Gallery:  Site for online local exhibition of photographs.

  California.

  1. Los Angeles County Museum of Art:  It contains over 150,000 works of art spanning the history
    of art from ancient times to the present.
  2. Los Angeles J. Paul Getty Museum:  It features 7 areas of art including Greeek and Roman,
    medival manuscripts, and European painting and sculpture.
  3. San Francisco Asian Art Museum:  This is one of the largest museums in the Western world
    devoted exclusively to asian art. The art come from China, Himalayas, India, Iran, Japan, Korea
    and Southeast Asia.
  4. San Francisco Fine Arts Museums:  The site features links to Legion of Honor and the DeYoung
    Museum. Over 75000 images.

  USA.

  1. Americam Museum of Photography:  Site has large quick-loading images of masterworks from
    such photographers as Talbot and Ansel Adams.
  2. Escher's World:  The site features photos of Escher's works that have fascinated mathematicians
    and scientist as well as artists. You can also buy Escher T-shirts,cups and other items.
  3. New York Metropoitan Museum of Art:  It has 2,000,000 works of art covering over 5000 years.
    There are 3500 works on the online collection.
  4. Time-Life Photo Museum:  Sight shows America's recent past through Life Megazine's photo-
    graphs classified into such categories as sports, people, places, war, culture, arts
    and science/nature.
  5. Washigton ,DC, National Gallery of Art: This site has one of the worlds finest collection of art
    depicting major achievements in painting, sculpture and graphic arts from the middle ages to the present.
  6. Washigton ,DC, Smithsonian Institution: This extensive site offers a vast resource for art browsing.

  Rest of the World.

  1. Art Serve:  It has 130,000 images pertaining mostly to Mediterranean art and architecture from
    classical through renaissance.
  2. Paris Louvre Museum:  You can see on the web the greatest masterpieces of the Louvre, such
    as the Mona Lisa, up close so that you can even see the brush marks. The paintings are classified
    by Artist or themes.
  3. St. Petersburg, Russia, Hermitage Museum:   One of the finest art collections in the world, the
    site offers an online digital collection that features a new IBM zoom to enlarge parts of a painting.
  4. The Vatican Museum:   Through its links, you can tour cathedrals worldwide, visit the Sistine
    Chapel, and view an incredible set of images, paintings, sculpture and architecture.
  5. World Wide Art Resources:  Excellent place which includes 14 data bases on artists, museums,
    galleries, and so on. Also, art jobs, sales and supply vendors are listed.
