    1. Java Music: An interesting site that offers animated tutorials to improve a person's grasp of theory through the use of a fun game approach. Has speed drills to improve your speed in reading notes and understanding scales.

    2. Music Emporium: This site teaches about different music groups and the elements of musical composition. You can click icons of brass, woodwinds, percussion and string instruments to learn how they work with composition. On the Composition Page you can create your own tunes with computerized sounds.

    3. Music Notes: The History Page goes back to Medieval times with MIdi audio files to aid your understanding of theory and basics - notes, scales and chords. Style button leads you to discussions of music types like classical and Carribbean. Has extensive set of links to other resources.

    4. Music Staff: Site helps you find an instructor for your instrument in the style you want and for your level. It has online guitar lessons with tips on music theory and Real Audio clips. Soon, it promises to have online instructions for the piano and drums.

    5. Piano Education Page: The ultimate online resource for piano students, teachers and parents. You can read inspiring interviews with artists and in the Audition Room (after downloading a plug-in) listen to hundreds of MIDI music files of great piano music. Also, you can get tips on practicing and playing better.

    6. Piano on the Net: Musician and composer Clinton Shirley Clark provides a free online multimedia tutorial on how to play the piano step-by-step. You begin with a 13 lesson starter package and progress through intermediate and advance levels. Each lesson averages 35 minutes and many are enchanced with Apple Quick Time audio.

    7. Redwood Chordsmen: This local site provides information about the male barbershop chorus, quartets, coming events, when and where they practice, work with charitable organizations, its youth outreach program and links to the International Headquarters, Far Western Region, and over 1100 other barbershop websites around the world.

    8. San Francisco Bay Area Chorus Directory - Choruses of Northern California: The Directory page provides an extensive list of Northern California choruses from Monterey North through the Redwood Empire and from San Francisco East to Sacramento. Many of the sites have color links to a web site .

    9. Sonoma County Music Association: This site contains information about music workshops and coming events where local performing artists are showcased. The shows are usually held at the Merlot Theatre in the Luther Burbank Center for the Performing Arts in Santa Rosa.

    10. Sweet Adelines International Headquarters: The Hone page of the Sweet Adelines offers links to events, shows, quartets and choruses.

    11. Woodwind Fingering Guide: An excellent resource for woodwind players offering basic, alternate and trill fingering on the flute, recorder, clarinet, saxaphone, oboe and bassoon. It has more than 2000 fingerings.
