    1. Press Democrat Garden Site:  Best place to start. It has extensive offerrings including articles, forum where garden doctor answers questions, resource index, and garden search.

  Elsewhere.

    1. All-American Rose Selections:  This rose site has tips of the months, where to buy, AARS Winners Brochure, links to public rose gardens and trails.

    2. Better Homes and Gardens:  This online version of the magazine provides a comprehensive gardening guide. The Test Garden, regularly photographed, is interesting to follow.

    3. Burrow:  The site features an advice column by Willy the Worm. It contains basic composting information, but its main focus is vermicomposing - composing with worms.

    4. Garden.Com:  A one-stop shop for gardeners in search of products and ideas, the site covers everything from shade gardens to aphid control to growing salad greens.

    5. Gardening Launch Pad:  This blossoming directory provides links to more than 2,500 gardening sites. Categories range from African violets to Xeriscape.

    6. Gardenweb:  Visitor gets an abundance of gardening forums which are organized by geographical area as well as by categories such as bulbs, gourds, daylilies and carnivorous plants. It displays a cadendar of gardening events around the world.

    7. My Seasons:  Another excellent resource on gardening having an extensive list of clickable links on its home page that includes articles and how-tos. Also, it sells plants.

    8. Old Farmer's Almanac Gardener's Companion:  This is one of America's most trusted sources for garden guidance and weather forecasts.

    9. Organic Gardening:  This online version of the popular Rodale publication has lots of information about how to grow impressive veggies without cheating. It offers solutions to such questions as How do I Get Rid of Yellow Jacket nest?

    10. Species 2000: What is the weird thing in my garden? The folks at Species 2000 will probably know. Based in England, it has the stated objective of enumerating all known species of plants, animals, fungi and microbes on Earth.
